By one am it had been blowing very hard and our anchor slowly began to drag even though it had been fine for several previous hours. We re-anchored and it didn’t seem to hold so at 3:00 am we motored to the other side of the bay. The wind now a healthy Force 8, tried to steal one of our cockpit cushions which we had to retrieve from the water. Ironically the side of the bay with the good holding also produces incredible gusts of wind. We spent the rest of the night with Force 8 gusting 9. I happened to notice one gust coming through of 56 knots. The side of the bay with bad folding is much less windy. ![]() Holding Anchor Track ![]() Dragging Achror Track ![]() Force 9 Anchorage |
