Day 3 to Noumea

22:09.273 S 167:36.362 In the early hours of this morning we had a
series of small squalls and the wind went East pushing us a little South of our
track and for the first time since leaving we sailed by the wind vane. Every time we were about to rig the pole
the wind went back to East Southeast where it seems to have settled and now
we’re back on track...without the pole.
The 24 hour run was 206 miles which must be something of a record for
SPINDRIFT, I don’t think we’ve ever had two consecutive days over 200 miles let
alone 3. We are 75 miles from the port and 45 from a little cape inside the pass
which we will reach before dark and spend the night there. Tomorrow we’ll carry
on to the customs dock but it’s unclear if we can check in before
Monday. __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4524 (20091019) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com |
