En Route to Fiji
15:08.261S 178:18.833 W We motored for three hours and got fed up and began sailing slowly. The moon is almost full and there is a weird mixture of rain squalls and moonlight. Dinner was a Bonito Tuna caught this afternoon. Not as good as Yellow Fin but at least very fresh. At this rate it will be Sunday evening when we arrive. Rain squalls still about, but it’s only
spitting. Some lightning. Wind on
the beam. Boat speed up a bit so ETA is back to Sunday The lightning is pretty spectacular flashing in the clouds. It’s the mega strobe effect, big sheets of light, no forks. Makes my attempts on stage seem pretty puny. Grey skies continue. Yesterday we managed 168 miles and there are another 194 to go. Wind has dropped and we’re back on 5 ½ knots boat speed.
