At 10:43 this morning we had a glimpse of the sun for the first time in many days.  Seven minutes later it was gone.  The rain is only spitting lightly however, so maybe it will get better.

Someday.   Last night we celebrated the 40th birthday of Aaron Pierce from WAYWARD WIND.  The Giggling Pig (yes that’s a restaurant) supplied 5  suckling pigs roasted on a barbecue built for the occasion and now carrying a new carved ironwood plaque commemorating the event. 50 people were expected and over 100 turned up. We all brought dishes to supplement the pigs. Aaron is a gentle giant of a man at 6’5” and a former Offensive End for the New York Giants.  I imagine he has a giant of a hangover this morning, there are certainly a couple on SPINDRIFT. We first met Aaron and Lauren on the Pepeete/ Moorea Rally some weeks ago.

Yesterday it rained less and we went to a sheltered anchorage for a swim.  The SE wind has come back big time offering 25-30 knots for the next few days,   the up side is less and less rain.

Steve often indulges in a bit of spear fishing and seldom returns with anything major.  The other day on our mooring in the bay, there was a feeding frenzy under our stern and he whipped out the spear gun and nailed his target from the deck without getting wet.  We think it was some sort of Jack Fish; very good eating it was to.  Sorry it's not a better picture.
