From Fiji Day 3

25:06.217 S 172:17.867 E The grey continues with spitting rain. We alter course a few more degrees South to try to keep the boat speed over 6 knots. Wind has gone NE still Force 4 which is not very helpful. We’re barely maintaining 6 knots. The rain has stopped for the moment. No stars. Hamish has moved into his cabin. The grey cocoon continues to engulf us…it rained lightly off and on all night. Boat speed often less then 6 knots. Wind is slowly going back to ESE which is encouraging. Hopefully tomorrow we will have better wind. Still Grey, but a lighter shade of grey and it’s not raining. The Wind (or should I say Zephyr) went back to ENE. The 24 hour run a disappointing 148 miles which may be a low end record which is what happens if you average 6.1 knots. At least we’re not motoring. Norfolk is a little over 330 miles to go so we should still get in Monday afternoon. . |
