Hi All,
Tough day today, weather has been gloomy, wind not
ideal and we have been heeling over again all day.
Earlier this evening we suffered a loss
in satelllite tracking from both GPS's just as we had tacked, almost
like a 'dead zone' and we also struggled to head into wind, she was barely
moving with 15knots off the beam even after shaking out a reef.It was a very
bizarre reality but a good job we were keeping a regular log, so we put the
engine on and got ourselves moving again knowing roughly where we were and
a bearing to head on. It was not long after before we regained GPS signal
and all systems were abck working again.
We are hoping to make it around the corner before
the tide turns as that could really slow us up if not. We intend to set a
waypoint near La Coruna and head for it tomorrow, 330 miles straight across 'The
Bay'
Our fourth crew member came into his own today,
'The Monitor' (self-steering wind vane), was on top form, steering us to
perfection through some heavy weather.
Nothing exciting on the food front today,
grapefruit for breakfast, pie and chocolate fudge cake for lunch and lasagne
again for tea as it is something easy to stick in the oven after a long day.
