As the sun peaks through the cloud ridden skies to bring us daylight for our final day of ocean sailing, there is a feeling, a feeling warmer than what the sun can currently bring us, a warmth that comes from achieving, achieving something great..... the perfect LOAF!!

No no, I joke don't worry, there is no talk of bread today but just of sailing!

Just the thought of making it to lanzarote and the chance for a swim is enough to keep me going. The wind has continued to power us through the last 48 hours under sail alone, and the turbine has kept up with our power demands the endurance and un-faltered ability of the wind vane has ensured that even with gusts of 25 knots over night, we have kept going in the right direction. We did however make the sensible decision at 4am to put a third reef in the main sail, a decision which was approved by the wind vane and relieved it of some pressure. It was also a much prefered changed for those sleeping below.

There is now a mere 25 miles to go, the same as going for short sail up the coast to Walton Backwaters for the weekend, just that we have spent the previous 250 miles on an ocean passage.

The fishing line is out already as it would be nice to enter harbour with some fish in the fridge ,last night we ate the whole thing in one sitting with some vegetable rice.

We are actually heading for a small island off the NE tip of Lanzarote called La Graciosa which comes reccomended for a stopover ,so we will let you now what its like.

But for now we leave you with the thought of all singing "My Way" by Frank Sinatra.
