Day 14....the end greeted with Rainbow and Dolphins!!
14:31.7N 60:11.5W As we finish Day 14 at sea, we are just 50 miles from St. Lucia. It was fitting that we were greeted mid-morning by a rainbow and , 10 minutes later, by a school of dolphins…pictures of the latter are hard to capture since they surface and dive very fast, but some indications are in the photos below. We are experiencing an almost ideal finish….wind at our back, wing-on-wing, 20 knots, mostly sunny, seas 3-4 feet…and it is getting very warm!! We are quite confident that we will be crossing the finish line in Rodney Bay, St. Lucia, late afternoon. All preparations have been made with charts, flags, procedures for entry, etc. The crew is eager for “land ho” and some celebration ashore!! Late Afternoon yesterday, the “school fan club” continued to expand as Scott did a Facetime with his daughter’s class….Astrid did not know her Dad would be doing this, so she was visibly surprised, as were her 1st grade classmates….all future Maine sailors!
