Saturday before the Sunday 1pm start....weather, weather, weather...everyone trading data, software programs, analysis, perspectives, and...for a few...plans to delay their start!  Then came the much anticipated "Skipper's Briefing" at 12 noon.  Captains were mandatory for attendance, and each boat could have one additional, so, of course, Scott, our tactician and sail plan/weather expert, much experienced captain himself joined me.  The briefing went over safety, communications, procedures, and...last...weather!  As Chris Tibbs gave the briefing (see the red on the weather chart and Chris pointing, and read his slides below), there was silence!  When he finished, Andrew Bishop, the owner and manager of the ARC franchise, came up and said..."for only the 2nd time in 27 years, we are revising the start, due to the weather conditions, and seeking to avoid boat damage and crew injury just one day out"...everyone needs to declare their plan to either start Sunday at 1pm, or join the delayed start on Tuesday at 1pm, with no penalty to the Cruising Class times for delaying, since all will be compared from start-to-finish, regardless of which start they chose.  Scott and I returned to "Arbella" to brief the crew, and then I asked that each member consider all the data, and we would decide before dinner....and, if anyone wants to delay, then that will be the decision for all.  We all recognized that these conditions will certainly not challenge our boat...Oyster's handle these conditions well, as Vicki and I experienced from April to September (when conditions were much worse),  BUT....this is a 3 week passage!!  The pictures show the marina in the morning, and just 3 slides from the "Skipper's Briefing".
