Excellent sail from Vanuatu to New Caledonia. The Foreign Office advice is to stay clear but it made a lot of sense to call into Noumea as there was some nasty looking weather out there. Calling into NC meant we could wait for the next weather window for the last leg to Brisbane. Noumea was interesting - strongly advised not to go exploring and to stay in the southern part of the city. Carrefour had been burnt down in recent weeks so it was certainly a developing situation. Noumea was fun - very French, so food good and provisioning easy, but the town had a feel of Covid days about it - full of cars parked and no-one moving about.
