To 7 July

After too much time at Denarau Marina fixing things we went out to one of the most beautiful of the Yasawa Islands and stayed on the resort, Barefoot Manta - a beautiful eco place with fancy lodges on the beach.  The alarm went off at the dive shop to let us know that manta rays were in the pass, and we were taken to swim with them in a fast rib.  An amazing experience as these majestic beasts swim past in the opposite direction to the snorkellers, feeding on plankton with their immense jaws (not sure if they are jaws) open to scoop up as much food as possible.  We also went on a couple of dives off the reefs nearer to Denarau with appropriate names such as “Fish Market” and “The Wall”.  Both were beautiful but the manta rays were hard to beat.

Then off to Musket Cove, which is a bay on Malolo Island in the Mamalucas, for another Fijian Feast and dancing.  Again, another gorgeous Fijian island - this is the most amazing cruising ground.  Definitely somewhere to come back to.
