These Islands are spectacular - we took the ferry over to the island of Sao Antao from Sao Vicente and did a tour in a bus - visiting a rum distillery and taking in the local scenery.  Deep gorges, and very green in the northern part.  It reminded us of Peru (not having been there, but the Peru we have seen from photos).  Lunch was the famous ‘cachupa rica’ a typical Cape Verdean dish of bean stew with fish - Patrick had a mouthful of bones from his grouper.  The houses are brightly coloured and locals very friendly.  We learnt about the “Barefoot Diva’ - Cesaria Evora - whose image is everywhere - she is much loved in these parts and her music fabulous
