Hi  All
Sorry I missed blog yesterday but to be honest I’ve had a couple of full 'days at the office’ with some storms. Ive now finally crossed the bay and have decided to take some R&R at a place called Gijon in Northern Spain. I'm looking at the weather maps and with a further storm I may be here a couple of days before progressing to the Canaries. I knew this first section would be the most challenging and at times its almost as if I’m  witnessing some massive god like conflict between sea and sky which I have been merely an observer and I still don’t think they have sorted out their problem.

From here Ive still got the final exit of the bay which hopefully I can time to the most beneficial weather, then is down the cost of Portugal the remainder of Spain before I cross the entrance to the med, which can have a lot of shipping. By this point the weather should be in a more regular pattern.

Today it was strange getting off the boat and my legs were very jelly. I also has a shower which was the most enjoyable shower I have ever had, it was just great washing of the salt and grim of the last 10 days. Also I was able to give my body a once over its I’m bruised from head to toes from the continual jolt from the boat. Im also looking forward to an extended sleep. For the last 10 days it has been either a doze in the cockpit or being woken by the AIS alarm when its sudden panic to adjust course before I’m run down by some container vessel.

Its been great to just wonder around the town for an hour or so this afternoon…… however, I do now need to stop the habit of strapping myself to some solid structure each time pause…I’ll leave the strap on the boat the next time I go out.. ..Oh and I saw my first flying fish today..

Aye for now
