Stopped at a place where cotton is made, dyed and sewn into all sorts of clothes and soft furnishings. The skill the workers had with the dying and art work certainly was impressive. Unfortunately we didn't buy anything as it was mobbed by the cruise ship passengers. The next stop was Brimstone Hill where the British built an amazing fort (with the help of slaves) on the very top. It's position on the south west corner of St Kitts gave it commanding views right down to St Martin. They named it Fort George and it certainly is a lot warmer than the other Fort George in Inverness-shire. St Kitts is certainly attracting lots of tourists with 3 or 4 cruise ships daily in the winter season. The hotel and housing complexes are sprouting up all over the place. We're so glad we've spent time here before real estate takes over and it loses its charm.
