14:04.450N 60:56.968W Arrived in Rodney Bay, St Lucia, after quite a hard day's sailing. The winds and waters between St Vincent and St Lucia are really wild. Nothing like forecasted. We had up to 30kts of wind just off the nose. Luckily however we did manage to sail across. Just as well as under engine we'd have gotten nowhere. We both got a thoroughly good soaking and were really glad to hit the lee of St Lucia. The intention was to go in at the Pitons but we had been pushed so far off with the wind and current that it would have meant steering directly into it. No chance! Instead the decision was taken to head directly for Rodney Bay. The marina was full even though we'd phoned and booked a berth, so we picked up a buoy in the lagoon. It'd been a very long day with eleven hours sailing so no sooner had we got SL tied up, the bar opened! Today they moved us into a berth as our outboard was kaput we couldn't get off the boat to check in at customs. The outboard has gone off to a 'wee man' to be hopefully fixed again. Unfortunately it is the end of the day now and he hasn't come back so we may be here sometime!!! Other repairs we will leave to Martinque as they look more organised. Well they are part of France - what can we say?
