On the island of Paxos there is a real little gem of a place called Gaios. We tied up against the harbour wall along side members of our group right in the centre of the small fishing village. It is amazing to be so close to the bustle of a traditional Greek island community with restaurants, bars and coffee shops in abundance. It is also a little ferry port for day trippers from Corfu and of course the many fishing boats and water taxis. We got so settled and comfortable that we decided to stay for two days. Our friends hired a very small car which gave us the chance to do a spot of sightseeing. The roads are a mixture of rough Tarmac and even rougher dirt tracks. We were glad not to be driving as it was white knuckle stuff for most of the way.
The following day we were on our way slipping quietly out of the somewhat sleepy little village and out around the island heading north to Corfu.
On the way up we got word that one of the boats managed to land a five kilo tuna!!
