Calm and peaceful leaving La Coruna at first light but once out into the Atlantic, the wind started increasing to F6. The seas weren't so bad, a bit bumpy but the sun was up and the engine was off. Two crew were out of it up top with music playing - good job someone's on the job!!!
Can't believe the number of windmills on the Spanish coast, thousands and thousands. Let's hope the UK don't follow their lead, as we'll be having them on our beaches, streets........
The dreaded Finisterre is coming into view. Winds have got up to F7 (35mph+) and seas are rough. Glad it's on or tail as fishing boats going north are finding it very heavy going whilst we were getting speeds of over 10kts. It may be a speed boat we've bought!!!
All went swimmingly. a piece of cake really. The stuff that nightmares are made off is really just a big pussy cat.
Just as we were heading into anchor in Ria Arosa, we spotted a customs boat. It followed 50 yards behind us for about 20 minutes before ordering us to slow down. Boy, this was at 10pm, don't they have homes to go to? Well anyway two came on board, the other six just watched us just in case we made a run for it!!! They only wanted ships papers and passports, but as none could speak a word of English and our Spanish was even worse, it took an age. Still we can rest easy knowing they're on the case.
