38:49.91N 20:42.75E Very early start for the journey to to Levkas, which involved helping a fellow yachtie off a sandbar at the edge of the canal. His wife had to swim over with a rope between her teeth whilst gentleman Alex stood by! We should have claimed salvage rights (still considering it though). Panic over, we very carefully progressed down the canal back to the open water. Once in the direction of Levkas we had little wind and flat calm seas, although a houle (gale) was predicted. The trip of 60 NM was uneventful and we followed our friend in a fast catamaran. The expected high winds did arrive with rain just as we were berthing in Levkas marina. Very challenging. We had fellow boaties running with fenders just in case. Not a problem!
