17:28.813N 63:59.384W  Happy New Year from Stacia (Dutch) to all our friends who may be looking at our blog.  We are back on board for 2015 and heading north to the British and US Virgin Islands.  The route so far has been a bit of up and down.  The down bit is when you  leave your boat in full working order for a spell in the UK, when you return you find there is a shedload of stuff that just doesn’t want to know.  Thus we spend weeks on a dockside waiting for parts to be flown in and men to come on board to fit them. We are of the opinion that when we get off the boat the Gremlins come on board to party!!!  The upside of sailing here is when you get the winds going your way its just pure magic.  Today for example we left a very rolly anchorage in St Kitts and had a fantastic sail with only the headsail up. However when we got to the gap between Stacia and St Kitts it was pretty ugly.  It is amazing the speed you can get with just a hankie up.  Stacia has an oil terminal right in the middle of its national park.  There are at least a dozen oil tankers offloading here but the water is pristine. We can see the bottom 20’ below us. Tomorrow we head out to St Martins, hopefully not bumping into any of them or the tugs that race about like dinghys.
