We had a good breeze this morning coming out of the harbour however by mid-day we were sailing under engine with waters like glass and virtually no wind. This gave us the chance to take in the local scenery which is quite spectacular. The distant mountains are still topped with snow. Then we passed under the amazing Rion bridge, the longest cable span bridge in the world and very impressive it was. it joins the Gulf of Corinth to the Gulf of Patras. Once through the bridge, we had a pleasant sail up to the mouth of a very narrow canal that took us up to Messalongi. The canal is very picturesque with tradition homes built on stilts right at the edge of the salt marches that border the canal. Once again, the evening finished in a taverna with very pleasant food and wine.
