The Diary of Sonsy Lass

36:33.53N 30:56.9E. We departed Kemer first light. In spite of a very late night, we were firing on all cylinders. Sonsy Lass squeezed out of a very tight berth and we were soon on our way to Alanya, a 10 hour sail. I say sail, but the winds were so light that it was on with engine, pump up the volume of the  stereo and relax. That didn't last long as the wind got up and a nice chop developed then we were sailing big time. We thoroughly enjoyed an exhilarating sail. For  those yachties out there, we crossed the bay on a beam reach at 8.4kts on 17/18kts of wind. We could have pulled a bit more but we didn't want the gunnels in the water. Alanya is another tight marina but the winds died down for our berthing, a first.  A cleanup and then off for a party on a Canadian boat before the official party! Not what our livers wanted to hear. You guys in Naples are only playing at it. Saturday's start is at 4am as we are off for a 3 day trip into the interior. No blog for a few days. You should be so lucky!
