What a transformation. After an awesome trip down the Spanish/Portuguese coast in heavy winds and seas, we at long last hung a right at Cape St Vincent and headed for Lagos, with its wall to wall sunshine and a pleasant 80°. Our first task was to get out of the oilies and start shedding layers until we were down to T-shirts and shorts.
Lagos is a very pleasant watering hole. Colin had his boat here for 9 months, so we're well familiar with the various haunts.
We're taking a well earned rest whilst a couple of warranty issues need attending
to, before pressing on into the Med. We've had several wee men come on board and one we actually put up the mast, 65', to fix the Windex. All crew stepped back from this chore.
All in all, Sonsy Lass took the pounding of the Atlantic on the chin and came through with flying colours, not so for the crew , who were shaken but not stirred!!! It's a great pity though she doesn't self-clean, both inside and out!
The extended stay here is giving Colin the chance to sort out his back. He's making daily trips to the local chiropractor. We're hesitant of pushing on until he is firing on all cylinders.
Belinda is joining us on Saturday, perhaps that will get him geed up and we'll be on our way to Gibraltar via Cadiz.
Regards to all
