I find that i have not been keeping you abreast of events -  for which many apologies. In summary, Sandra and Tim visited us for 10 days. The weather contrived to extend our stay in Antigua for the period as we oscillated between English Harbour, Galleons Reach, Carlisle Bay and Jolly Harbour ducking in and out of the weather – pleasant enough Caribbean weather – but rather more wind than we would like!  Three days managing contractors and packing the boat up before returning home thus transporting my non-functional lughole  to a doctor.

After three nearly months languishing in the Caribbean sampling the medical systems in both Martinique and Antigua, England felt a remote place. One quickly acclimatises as one’s body adopts the sidereal clock.  Quite warm towards sunset 18.15.  just after sundowners at 17.30 and after a while you notice a slight chill in the air as dawn approaches at around 06.10.  Now “chill” is relative: it’s the difference between the daytime 26-30 C and the early morning 21-22C.  You just about remember what it is like at home, but you don’t miss it, save perhaps for the log fire and the Friday evening visit to the pub.   So you can imagine the shock to the system when,  on the morning of my arrival, I was greeted by this:

Bracing – it’s the stuff memories are made of. It has been really nice in the UK while it has been cold – but when it warms up and rains, I shall be heading West as quick as I can!
