Sunday  December 2nd, Tutukaka, Northland,  New Zealand  South Pacific Ocean 35 37.0S 174 32.2E  Today’s Blog by Lenie (eerrr… and Terry)  (Time zone GMT+13.00; UTC +13.00)

I cannot leave Serendipity without a last minute blog. We are on our way to Tutukaka and I judge this a good moment. After all, we have been through the : ‘let’s put the kite up, let’s not put the kite up’ moment of the day.

I must say that this trip has been a great experience, with many highlights and special moments. Most have been mentioned in the blog already.

At the end of this journey I would like to say a big thank you to David. I have huge admiration for his dedication, inspiration and energy to make his circumnavigation happen. He has worked tirelessly to keep us all in check, not always an easy task I must confess.

When I say dedication I mean it. David has the Oyster logo                     Is David pulling the crew or himself together here?

                                          Tattooed on his leg!?

Unfortunately we have not seen any kiwis on the trip. Must have           My favourite nature picture:  A budding New Zealand fern.

something to do with dogs, this one has 6 legs!?

I am signing off with sadness but wish David, Peter and any further crew Bon Voyage and happy sailing.

BLOG TOO:

I would like to echo Lenie’s thoughts and say many thanks to David for the opportunity to join him on Serendipity, and to Peter for all his advice and encouragement.

I have enjoyed sailing this marvellous boat through warm blue seas and through the odd bit of rough, meeting many new interesting people sailing around the world with stories to tell.

We have been able to visit many beautiful and interesting places, and of course the wonderful snorkelling in New Caledonia.
