Beaucette Marina, Guernsey

06.30 Tuesday July 19. 49:30.15N 02:30.30W

After all the waiting the weather gods appear to have relented and it is time for us to get on our way.

We spent yesterday doing more things that we should have done weeks ago. Beaucette is several miles from town and Bob and Peter took the bus  to get some essential supplies. David spent the day waiting for a call from a man who could fix an autopilot glitch.  Raymarine were clear about the source of the problem  (low domestic battery voltage) which if that proves to be correct now introduces a worry about the battery charging an monitoring systems. Anyway only time, and a thrash across Biscay will tell.

Dinner ashore in a very good and reasonably priced newly opened restaurant in the marina itself.

The forecast is in fact reasonably benign for the next few days with fair winds –  with a risk of gales near  the Iberian Coast. But that is 4 days away – the forecast not been accurate  more than 24 hours out lately so we hope things will change. If it doesn’t – at least they are northerly gales!

Farewell Guernsey.
