Have been back in sunny Hampshire  for six months.  The good news is that the builders, (who started here on May 5th , engaged upon what they termed ‘Minor Works’)) finally left yesterday – leaving their Portaloo behind to provoke fond memories of their tenure!

The summer here has been lovely – I’ve thoroughly enjoyed terra firma, doing things I hadn’t done for a long time, like walking the dogs!

This month’s “Spot the Dog” Competition: (there are three)

This morning, I picked what will probably prove to be the last raspberries of the year from our garden. We still have gladioli and even delphiniums in bloom – and several roses still flowering too!   The temperature here  at the weekend was back to 22+oC again.  Doubtless it won’t last …..

I have been home ducking the  Atlantic  Hurricane season.  This year’s season has been billed as the quietest for two decades, but it seems it is not done with us yet. Indeed, with two storms in October , (including ‘Gonzalo’ which visited serious harm on London as well as Bermuda), it seems  to be ending with a flourish!  Officially, the season ends 30 November but hurricanes are very rare late in the season south of Antigua – no, really - which is good because we are heading back to Grenada early next month!

The plan is family and friends between Grenada and the Virgin Islands until mid February then back home for a few weeks before starting the journey across the North Atlantic in April.
