Marina - Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Apologies for the last 5 days without a blog update, as we have all been
sunning ourselves on deck and diving, swimming and snorkelling off the boat
in the shallow waters of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. But anyway...

11th Aug consisted of the arrival of Alison, Kara, Jenna and myself. Kara
and I had a couple of drinks at a local bar while the others relaxed on the
boat and went to bed.

12th Aug, sailed half an hour down the coast to a bay where we anchored and
enjoyed soaking up some rays and cooling off in the azure blue sea. Dinner
out at night.

13th Aug, identical to day two with the exception of Susie who left to
return to the UK.

14th Aug involved a day of sailing from Puerto Calero, Lanzarote across to
Gran Tarajal, Fuerteventura. Mega tanning session there with bright beaming
sun and plenty of wind to keep cool. The plan was to stay at Gran Tarajal
for 3 nights, this was not so, as the area was a bit barren and honestly, an
eyesore...We did manage to find a pizzeria for dinner at night, 1 km walk
down from the marina.

15th Aug was an early leave to get away from the dump, followed by another
full day of anchoring in a bay for swimming and tanning. Dinner on board,
followed by cards and presents for Alison's Birthday. This was followed by a
nice long 10 hour night sail across to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. Everyone
had their fair share of night watching in shifts of 3 hours long. The
longest 3 hours of their lives, as some of the sailors on board have
exclaimed.

Today, 16th Aug, arrived at Las Palmas marina at 10 o'clock, with some warm,
but cloudy weather.

This Afternoon's plan; explore the surroundings and the town, maybe some
shopping. Possibility of eating out at night.

Hopefully a further update tomorrow. =]
