Today’s Blog by David (Time zone BST+10.00; UTC +11.00 )

We left the Hamble on this world voyage on the afternoon of July 16th, 2011 – one year ago today.  Since then we have sailed 16,952 miles and traversed two of the world’s oceans. Phew!

Peter and I arrived here safely  yesterday afternoon. Remarkably our berth was available for us as arranged we moored and then continued our end of voyage, “everything must go”, marathon feast, trying to finish off all of our fresh and frozen foods before the Biosecurity/Quarantine officer arrived to declare us fit to walk ashore.

The usual  trials with the immigration and customs ensued but we are now legal – and hopefully so for the three or more months that Serendipity will be berthed here.  A week of maintenance and cleaning will now follow before we leave for the UK next Monday.

I leave you with two nice photos:

Footnote

We have been sending blogs to both Serendipity’s Blog Page and also to the World ARC Blog. Now that we have left the rally  our blogs soon will no longer be available on the World Cruising  site.

If  you want to continue to follow our progress (even if it is in the hope that we one day will be ship wrecked!) you will need to go to our Blog Page:
