A week in George Town and it's been an experience. We are anchored away from the main action and it's over a mile to tender into the town for shopping and all other facilities. It has been windy (15-20) all week so every time we go ashore we get soaked, just about dry out before heading back getting soaked again. We envy those with bigger outboards who plane over the waves and arrive bone dry in a fraction of the time.
We listen to the Cruiser's net each morning and marvel at the list of activities open to all. The support within the community is great, calls for help and advice are made on the net and there's no shortage of fellow cruisers willing to help out others. Yesterday we were on one of trails on Stocking Island and we met Skip, an American who has  been coming here for 22 years, he laid the trails and maintains them.
The weather is now settling and looks good for our passage to Cuba. So today we are off to do the shopping and check the emails before an early start in the morning. It's about 240 miles and depending how we are going we might stop over in the Ragged Islands on the way, either way we should be in Cuba sometime on Thursday.
We will miss our neighbours for the last two weeks, in Nassau and George Town, John and Trav from NZ but now Boston and formerly our home town Topsham, Les and Chris from Marion ( now here's the deal Les). Both couples helped us through the Super Bowl last night but unfortunately the New England Patriots lost to their old rivals the New York Giants. Also our old friends from Sestina Mike and Jean.
