Three weeks on and we have arrived in Vilamoura. The temperature soared on turning eastwards at Cape St. Vincent and we are enjoying constant hot sunshine.

On the way we had a night at anchorage at Sines, birthplace of Vasco da Gama which was comfortable and peaceful. The next night we spent at anchorage too, but that was a different story. Not wanting to round Cape St. Vincent in the dark we anchored at Arrifana; a small bay used by surfers. The pilot book said it was protected from the N and NW, which it was; and we anchored securely but the swell gave us a restless night - something we will have to get used to!

Now tucked up in Vilamoura marina we are getting on with replacing the tricolour and dealing with a few other running repairs.

Charlie is due to fly out in the morning, and we will be spending the day with Rebecca, Simon and the family; Taking them out on Maymio, anchor off a nice bay for some fishing, swimming and a picnic lunch!

Then we are 2. So tonight we get out the pilot book again and plan the next port of call!

All is well,
