> We arrived safely in Port Louis, Mauritius after a pretty gentle 14 day passage from Cocos Keeling. The trades winds blew but only just and with 15 to 20 knots most of the way and no sign of the dreaded big swells that often sweep up from the Southern Ocean we were much more comfortable than we had expected. Our great friends Mike and Devala from Sea Rover were on the customs dock to take our lines and give us all the tips about the town. The local officials love their paperwork and it took quite a while to get through the usual Quarantine, Customs, Immigration, Coastguard process but luckily we were tied up just across from a lovely waterfront cafe which Stu immediately made a beeline for! Unlike Cocos, not everything was closed and the cafe staff soon worked out that these thirsty sailors would be very good business.

> A very happy looking crew in Port Louis. The first cold beer on arrival is always a special one.

> Stu had a birthday whilst we were on passage but didn't really get to celebrate it properly so it seemed rude not to make up for the lost opportunity!

> After a couple of days in town we moved 10 miles up the coast to the gorgeous Grand Baie where we are anchored just off the very friendly and welcoming yacht club.

> Wishing Stupot a fond farewell (with Bamboozle at anchor in the background). He spent five and a half weeks on board and sailed three and a half thousand nautical miles across the Indian Ocean and was the perfect crew member. We will miss him not being there to do his watch on our leg to South Africa and miss him even more when we have our next PPP!
