Just a quick note to update our position on the
map. We are now across the other side of Nadi Waters in the legendary
yachtie hang out of Musket Cove on the small but perfectly formed island of
Malolo Lailai. Surrounded by white sandy beaches and palm trees, this is
home to the Musket Cove Yacht Club (Membership F$1 for the skipper and F$5 for
any crew members, who have sailed in from a foreign port). There is
a very laid back resort hotel with a couple of bars and a
poolside restaurant, the use of all of which they happily extend to
visiting yachts. The beach bar provides not only ice cold Fiji
Bitter but also a couple of barbeque pits and a huge pile of firewood so
there is a "Bring your own meat party" every night!
The other good news is we have a guest to share
this all with. This morning we collected a great friend, Mark Tennant
from the airport so we have a few weeks to share the cruiser life with him.
Lucy has declared that she is officially "on holiday" whilst he is
visiting. I'm still not quite sure if she is threatening some sort
of rebellion against the skipper's normal harsh barbaric regime or
just adopting a different state of mind! Savoir Vivre seems to be slipping
into "Fiji Time"
