Bamboozle joining in the festivities and looking
very colourful!
Rugby was everywhere, you couldn't miss the
fact NZ were hosting a World
Cup.
Jamie with Mike (s/v Sea Rover) before England's
Quarter Final..... when we still had hope (and pizza and
wine)!
Greg and Debbie with Eva and Jack on board
Bamboozle. They were wonderfully hospitable and as made us feel very
welcome in Auckland.
Once England were knocked out we found ourselves
supporting a range of other teams including even the
Welsh!
Downtown Auckland and the waterfront was closed
to traffic each weekend with a huge number of
fans coming in to enjoy the outstanding atmosphere and watch the
games on giant screens.
There was a "Fan Trail" walking route up to Eden
Park. Lots of entertainment on the way and when the
All Blacks made it to the Final every house was holding a
party.
Greg and Marty trying to hide their
nerves ahead of the
Final.
Marty and Debbie. We had such a lot of
fun at their house at their pre and post match
parties.
With our great friend Flora who made it all the
way from Washington D.C. for the
Final.
Outside Eden Park dressed this time in our "All Black"
kit!
A moment of huge national relief for New Zealand as
the All Blacks finally win the World Cup again after a 24 year
wait.
Jon and Hannah from England who sat next to us
for all our games at Eden Park.
The end of a fantastic tournament.
Congratulations to the All Blacks and well done everyone in NZ who made it
such a special event.
Very happy kiwis. We had a crowd of celebratory All
Black fans back on board Bamboozle after the Final. The parties
across the country went on all night and much of the next
day.
Lucy in Devonport looking back across at
Auckland.......
relieved to finally be doing something that
isn't about
rugby!
