It has recently been pointed out by a number of friends that I have been doing a particularly poor job of keeping this blog up to date in 2012.  Well spotted and I have no excuse! Here is a quick recap to bring things up to date.

We spent the first part of 2012 exploring more of the coastline of northern New Zealand.  It has apparently been the "worst" summer in living memory and I will certainly never take any stick from a Kiwi again about the climate of the UK but this did not detract too much from what was wonderful cruise in a country that never ceases to impress us.  At the start of February my mother Pat joined us on the boat for a week and then we made a great road-trip down around the South Island.

At the end of February we returned Bamboozle to her "Kiwi home" in the ever friendly Gulf Harbour Marina on the Whangaparoa Peninsular just north of Auckland.  We put her to bed for a few months and we have returned to Val d'Isère in France to take advantage of the back end of what has clearly been a bonanza snow season right across the Alps. We have already had a couple of weeks of super skiing and catching up with old friends.

We fly back to Bamboozle at the beginning of May and will be heading north towards Fiji as soon as we have filled the lockers with provisions for the year and the weather forecast looks good.

In the meantime here are a few mountain pictures for a change!

A hot and happy Jamie with our ski guide Fred having walked up for an hour and a half on skins to reach this beautiful spot. Both the view and the trip down made the effort well worth while.
Lucy's first day touring on skins and remarkably she is still smiling.....I won't say she is a total convert yet but she certainly enjoyed her days discovering some of the less accessible parts of the surrounding mountains.
Great snow and fresh tracks....."merci Fred!"
