So after a few days hold up in Lagos and last night in Vilamoura, we are now on the move again and actually sailing. We have 15 knots of southwesterly wind which for us is just behind the beam. The sea is a bit confused with swell in at least two directions so it’s a little lumpy, but the sun is shining and all is well with the world.

Our plan it to reach Cabo Trafalgar at first light so we can pass the Orca hotspot close inshore. The current advice is to stay inside the 20 metre depth contour.

We will hopefully pass through the straits of Gibraltar around lunchtime and on to our destination of Sotogrande by late afternoon. The wind should have changed in the straits from easterly to westerly by then to help us in to the Med.
