Learning the Ropes

 

Although there are apparently only two ropes on a boat, there are a lot of Lines, Sheets, Warps and Halyards, most of which lead back to the winches within the safety of the flybridge, the crew have been slowly learning which is which, I wonder if they will spot the extra one?

The cabin fever crazed deckhands have refused to accept that shadow rats are mythical creatures and have been online (via satellite) to “Pets R Us” and ordered a Shadow Cat! They have also put forward the following picture to support their case, claiming not only to have caught one but also that a second creature is lurking in the “shadows”.

 

 

 

Just after lunch today we reached the 2000 mile mark, it is strange how the first 500 seemed to take for ever and yet each subsequent 500 has passed faster and faster, our only concern now is that our adventure will soon be over and become just a memory.

 

 

Today’s maintenance task was polishing, first a wipe down with the chamois, then putting the polish on, quickly followed by buffing it off, even the floor of the flybridge was polished to remove the tea stains from the night watches.

 

I don't know but I've been told,

Moose’s Stainless shines like gold !!

 

 

After the polishing, back to the sailing, two wheels and no one at either of them !!

 

 

We have sailed in some rather large swell today, in fact its a mix of swell from two different directions causing Moose to Pitch, Roll, Yaw and Heave all at the same time and despite our best efforts its been impossible to take a photo the captures this.This shot of one of the swim platforms shows how they spend most of the time underwater.
