SUAKIN
Marsa Ata was rather appealing. Not least because we were able
to trade for fresh fish from the local fishermen. We stayed an extra night
and had two excellent fish suppers,
On Wednesday we arrived in Suakin, our first major waypoint on the route to
Salalah, Oman. Part of the city is a complete wreck - looking like a bomb
site from some war movie.
Suakin is roughly half way down the Red Sea and about one third of the way
to Salalah, so our arrival here is cause for a little celebration.
