Arabian Sea - Indian Ocean
Day 8 of the Crossing

The winds overnight were pretty light, but sufficient to keep sailing, so we have still not used the motor and have done over 1000 miles under sail.
This morning the light winds continued and the only excitement was a rain squall early this afternoon when we were careering along at over 9 knots - but only for a few minutes.  That squall is the first proper rain we have had since August 2007!  The boat was still filthy with Red Sea dust so the rain helped clean up a bit but it will take a lot of rain to finish that job.
Light winds don't make for a fast passage and we are now only five hours or so ahead of schedule.  It looks increasingly likely that we will make landfall on Monday.
