We liked Marsa Ata so stayed a second night there before moving on to the old slave port of Suakin.  Slaves were traded here up until the time of the Second World War.  The port was later eclipsed by Port Sudan but remains the best harbour for yachts.
Suakin is the first major milestone on our trip.  The next being Massawa in Eritrea.  It is also the place to stock up on fuel and supplies.
We plan to visit Port Sudan by road while we are here.  Both yachts need to replace batteries and we have heard that they are available in Port Sudan.  We will also have the opportunity to use the internet there and, hopefully, find some more "exciting" groceries than ara available in Suakin.
