Fakarava is nice

We enjoyed some fabulous snorkelling and some great diving in the southern pass of Fakarava with our friends from S/Y Medea. You can do a drift dive with the incoming tide and it’s wonderful! You float over fields of multi-coloured coral whilst beautiful reef fish swim below you and black-tip shark circle in the deeper water - it’s absolutely stunning. Sadly I drowned my GoPro so can’t get any pictures.
We moved on towards the northern pass yesterday, there’s a well marked channel so motoring through the bommies wasn’t as scary as it might have been given the cloudiness and poor light conditions.
We have anchored with about 20 other boats of the village of Rotoava, a nice little place with two shops and a boulangerie. We are going to stay here for a few days until the supply ship arrives and we can re-provision.
