Age of the rock: 350,000 – 500,000 years old
Last eruption: May 16th 2015 (Mount Etna was smoking when we climbed up the
volcano).
Height: 3,350 m
Area: 1,190 km2
Mountain range: Nebrodi
Position: East coast of Sicily
Coordinates: 37:45.3N 14:59.7E
Biggest eruption: 1669 – killed 20,000 people! one year some people
prayed
really hard for the lava to not hit the villages, and the lava stopped at a
church!
The people call this the miracle as it was amazing for them.
