Today we pulled the anchor up and we set sail to a volcano
called Stromboli and it is a famous volcano, and the last biggest lava
flow was on the 7th August 2002. We saw a hydrofoil with large arm things to
make it go faster, my Dad then thought me how clouds work. The sun shines and
the water evaporates and mixes with the air and makes warm moist air and it
travels along. When it hits the mountain the moist air cant go through it
or around it so it has to go over the top off it so when it gets higher it gets
colder and then it makes it self into a cloud and then it cant hold any more
water so it starts to rain.
I then got taught about engines and then I did maths like
108234+203 and other sums, I got them all right. Then I could go and play, but
just then Dad told us to perform a play. Catrin was a mermaid called mermaid,
Katie is a narrator and I am Neptune the god off the sea and we made a story up
about people throwing rubbish into the sea and Catrin and I were drawing
pictures off the characters. We soon got to the volcano and we decided to have a
look at the volcano after tea so we went and anchored up next to a black beach
and then got ship shape.
We then decided to go to the beach so we put our sun cream on
and we got changed into our swimming costumes and we went in the dingy to the
black beach an guess how deep it was 20 meters away from shore it was 539 meters
I think it was defiantly past 500 meters though. When we got there there was
rocks with little emerald things on it but it wasn’t emeralds. I then went
snorkelling and saw a really rare fish a peacock wrasse and an anthios. We were
allowed to take the stones home and they came from the lava flow off the
volcano. We then went back in the dingy and we had tea and set off to the
volcano. We listened to a tour around the volcano on a tripper boat telling
people about the volcano. We waited for ages but nothing came out so we headed
back and we anchored in the dark, Mum and Dad had to have a light so they could
see what they are doing and we went to bed.
