Today when we had woken up and when everyone except for me had got dressed
we set sail to Portisco. I hadn’t got dressed because I was doing my maths,
Grandma came down stairs to help me but she only stayed for a while as she felt
sea sick. I was then told not to do any homework today as we where sailing, it
is really hard to write down answers whilst the boat is leaning on one side!!
Whilst we were sailing we passed the NATO navel base again as we where traveling
up to the north of Sardinia. We all had to have coats on on the sail as it was
really windy, and the wind was very cold!! We had the main and Genoa up at
first, we were sailing at eight point five knots!!When the wind died down we
took both our sails in and we quickly had our lunch. After lunch it got windy
again so we first of all put up the main and we then put up the Genoa again.
When we arrived at the Portisco we saw a GIANT Catamaran!! Portisco was a
bit of a copycat of Porto Cervo, as it was one of the places where all the super
yacht owners keep there super yachts. There were lots of company boats on
pontoons all these boats were Jeanneau this is the same make as our boat but a
different model, our boat is a Jeanneau 50DS it’s 15 meters long, some super
yachts are 60 meters long!!
When we had tied up and when the boat was ship shape we left Grandma and
Grandad on board the boat whilst we went out into town to explore. We found a
Laundrette, a supermarket, lots of empty hotels and a playground. When we had
been to the playground we found Grandma and Grandad in a cafe they asked us if
we would like to have a drink with them and said “Yes.” When we had drunk our
drinks we went back to the boat, and we left Granma and Grandad at the cafe.
When they came back they told us that they had found a secret path which led to
a beach!! Grandma said that at the beach she had an ice cream, she also said
that we could get to the beach by Dingy!! Granma and Grandad then got changed as
they were going out to tea at a very posh restaurant. When they had gone we had
Kebabs, they were from the butchers in Santa Maria, they were really
good!!
When we had eaten our tea we then read for a while and we then went to
bed.
