When we where all dressed and ready to sail we set sail to Vulcano – a live
volcano (the word volcano comes from the name Vulcano!), on the way we saw a few
dolphins, but not as many dolphins as we have seen before. We put up the main
and genoa and we sailed whilst Daddy made water, it sometimes takes three hours
to make the tank water and drinking water! We soon took the genoa in and we kept
the main up, we turned the engine on and we began to motor. We took the genoa
(the front sail) so we wouldn’t be leaning to the left whilst eating our
lunch!
After lunch we arrived, as soon as we where ship shape we put on old beach
clothes as we where going to the white coloured mud baths. When we had got to a
near by beach Daddy pulled the dingy up the disgusting black sandy beach. We
could smell a horrible smell which smelt like a smelly pig style, yuck! When we
arrived at the mud baths we had to pay £2.00 for each person to get in, Catrin
was told that she wasn’t aloud to go into the mud baths as it gets deep quickly
and the mud isn’t good for babies skin.
Daddy took his top and shoes off and he walked to the mud baths I took one
shoe of and I put my foot onto the ground as soon as my foot touched the ground
I burnt my right foot as the ground was scorching from Vulcano. I quickly put my
shoe back on, as I didn’t want to get burnt again. It turned out that we didn’t
play in the smelly mud baths at all instead we played in the warm sea, the sea
was warm as the hot air was creeping through rock which where on the hot
volcanic ground. When we had had enough of the sea as well as the mud baths we
went into the main town.
We stopped at a shop which sold straw hats I got one with a pink ribbon
sewn round it whilst Mummy chose a pretty blue hat which had a pale flower on
the back. When we had finished in the hat shop we found the supermarket, once we
where all stocked up with food we walked slowly back to the dingy. When we got
there we put our shopping into the dingy and we drove back to Zulu.
Back at the boat we unpacked the shopping and we changed into warm and dry
clothes. When Mummy had made the tea we sat in the cockpit and we ate . After
tea I read my book, the Atlantic children.
