Today on the 21st of April we woke up on a bright and early lovely Wednesday morn woke up at half past seven and, my Dad put the engine on then we put the sails and set of to Soller. We then finished our school work my Dad made the porridge and I got the honey out ready for the porridge. When my Dad cooks the porridge when new are sailing it over boils every time, this time I kept an I on the porridge. When we had finished our breakfast we saw lots of big mountains and cliffs, when we had finished looking at the mountains we saw a SuperYacht come past. The Yacht was called Eminence, when we looked her up she is in the top 100 of superyachts, she has a range of 6000nm and because of the large range carries 160,000 litres of fuel!!!! We only carry 240 litres and we rarely fill up - we have only used 1/4 of a tank since leaving Santa Eulilia on Ibiza and we use the generator every day to charge the batteries and run the water maker.
I went trolling for fish (which is the same as fishing), but we use a handline rather than the rod. The line is a lot stronger so hopefully the line wont break when we catch a big fish. We put the squid lure back on but didn't catch anything. Also I had to do compass bearings, we soon got there and we took the trolling line in first we had to undo the line from my dads Idea. When we had done all that we watched our Dad in his wet suit swimming at the back of the boat to find out what the problem is got with the lip seal on the stern gland - it was getting hot whilst we were motoring but is ok now. We wondered if something had got caught around the shaft but he could not see anything. The water shimmered because we are anchored just in front of a river. When it mixes with the different temperature sea water and salt concentration it shimmers like a hot day.
When my Dad had finished his job we all kept on jumping in the sea at the back of the boat even Catrin with her life jacket on when I had my last jump my Mum pushed me in. After we had our swimming fun we pegged the clothes up, had a shower and Dad made us a hot chocolate.
We then went fishing using feathers on our new line. We caught a small fish straight away which we threw back. Dad saw a barracuda under the boat about 50cms long just before we went to bed. We left the small feathers out in the hope that if we caight a little fish a big fish may come along and eat the small fish but Dad took the line in before he went to bed.
