The Tioram blog is being updated for 2015-2016 and will follow this blog asap.
2017 will then follow as normal as we travel again.

Hi all,

Well dear friends and family, maybe you thought that the Tioram blog had ended after 6 years of entries.

Well the diary continued on paper with tales of distant places, visits to historic buildings and stories of wonderful characters met en route. This combined with stories of sailing the seas, voyages calm and challenging and life on board Tioram is... alive and kicking.

All the photos will be here to see to help to tell the story, sometimes the photographs of some of these beautiful places need no accompanying words.

2015:
The second half of the summer of 2015 follows this blog and the journey you may wish to read about took us on an interesting circumnavigation of Corsica and a sail to the Island of Elba. We found ourselves following in the footsteps of Napoleon who was born on Corsica and exiled in Elba.

In Sardinia we hired a scooter and headed in land to explore the area of Arzachena and the 3,000 year old archaeological sites of the ‘Nuraghe”

The end of the season saw us sailing back to Spain from Sardinia with our friends Jackie and John, a full on sailing trip, sailing day night round the clock to safely sail between strong weather coming in.

2016:
In 2016, Tony sailed Tioram from Spain to Sardinia.

For 2016 I will be updating and posting a collection of glorious photographs for you all to enjoy taken from May - August.

For August, September there will be blogs for Sardinia and Corsica plus cross med transit to Spain plus photos.

For 2017, those of you who have perhaps followed the adventures of Tioram and her ‘crew’, Tony and I from leaving the Hamble river, Southampton UK in 2009 and her 7 years story to the Med, Caribbean , returning via the Azores to the Med and though east to Turkey and east/west transits….. her story continues….

We hope you might be interested in the updated blogs 2015-2016 and that you may wish to enjoy reading about the future adventures of Tioram in 2017………who knows what tales might be told.

In ancient times and before the days of satellite mapping, the ancient mariners referred to sea charts showing islands and lands plotted in shapes which often vaguely represented the coastlines and sometimes were also incredibly accurate.

Beyond the point of known or charted lands and seas the charts had symbols and drawings of fantasy to represent the unknown.

The ominous words were added by sailors at the edges of these charts…….’Here there be dragons’………..today we simply call it….’off-grid’.

For 2017 we hope to tell you ‘off-grid’ stories……and hope that we don’t see any dragons !!!

love to all
