On 24th June at 08.00 hrs we lifted anchor after a rolly
night in Cala Boix, Ibiza to head North East to Mallorca. We set sail in 10
knots T wind sailing off course a little to enjoy sailing rather than
using the engine. By 11.00 hrs the wind was on the nose then
diminished and we motored for an hour until the wind filled again form the
east and we were sailing at 5.3 knots over ground in 10 knots T wind.
Maria and Pepe had a lovely tiime sitting on the
bow.
After 3 hours the wind dropped and we started motoring the
last few miles of the 60 nmiles to Palma Nova
bay, Mallorca.
We anchored in the lovely bay at 18.35 hrs and
enjoyed a fun, tranquil evening on board Tioram.
The following day we decided to blow up the dinghy and go
ashore to buy some provisions and Maria and Pepe treated us to a very nice
spanish lunch.
On the evening the calm sheltered water in the bay
provided a mirrored panorama of the shoreline and hotels---- very
pretty.
The following morning 26th June, we lifted anchor at
08.25 hrs and partly motored and then sailed in
warm, light breeze the 8 n miles to Palma.
We filled up with diesel for our trip east to Greece
before sayinig goodbye to Maria and Pepe. They had decided to leave Tioram after
a lovely short holiday, having really enjoyed the experience but due
to not feeling too well on the long overnight sail they had decided not to
continue east with us.
We left the marina in Palma at 10.30 hrs and as we sailed
away I shouted to Maria and Pepe, 'Vamos a Grecia!',---- We go
to Greece!. We waved until we lost sight of them as we left the
marina, they went to stay with their niece for the night before
travelling home to Mazarron and we sailed off to Greece.
Love to all
