Hello from Tioram
Not much to report today as the light winds have
continued and we have made some progress towards Horta in the Azores.
Sometime tonight we will probably pass our half way mark which is after 9 and a
half days. This is over a day slower than scheduled but given the contrary winds
there is nothing else we could have done. The wind overnight went light as usual
just after a large black cloud passed overhead and took 2 hours before it
returned to the expected direction. We are looking at the latest weather now to
see if we can position the boat to make better progress.
Life on board continues to be good with the skipper
on cooking duty last night rustling up a good pasta dish with enough to fill a
crew of 8. John has finished his book which has kept him somewhat
distracted over the last few days and the skipper has been at his sun sights
again - yesterday was cloudier so not a good day for such activity.
Malte and James have just made lunch and the dish
of the day tonight is tuna pasta bake ala John.
Its too soon to be thinking of cold beers in Horta
but the rumour is we may celebrate the half way point tonight.
No Ula award today nothing really
happened.
Cheers from Tioram
