Hi from Tioram

After the record run for Tioram of nearly 200 miles yesterday, the last 24 hours has seen more modest progress as the wind went lighter and went round to the NE.  We currenty have 13 knots NE which was expected and means that we are now pointing for Bermuda. Our weather router Chris Tibbs expects that we will get more favourable winds as we approach the island. Early this morning the skipper decided to tack off to the east but after the wind settled, a visit to West Africa was vetoed and we turned back onto the NW course. Another 15 days like this will be fine.

Life on board is relatively easy at the moment with not much to say about the last day. At 19:00 last night Tina was steering when a large flying fish tried to leap the boat and sadly miscalculated. It hit the mainsail with a big bang  and bounced off. Tina alert as ever managed a quick dive to the left avoiding being hit by two pounds of marine flier which then exited via the transom no doubt with a headache.

James not content with stories of 110 days at sea rowing has been regailing us with stories of daring do racing motercycles. To the uninitiated this seems to consist of falling off at high speed and hoping that you come to a stop before hitting anything hard. Malte is about half way through his sail trimming book. After discussion we think the boat may be going slighty faster until he starts experimenting with the myriad of buttons by Tioram's wheel.

Tina is keeping us in ship shape with matters domestic and safety and Tony's worrying because he has got nothing to worry about.

Al, sorry for missing your birthday so good tidings of yesterday and Happy birthday to Deb for the 9th which turned into a busy day and we could not call.
