with a very poor representative shot of our interaction with the people of Cabo
Vela through the Three Amigos. cartagena was a real highlight for us and the old
town and its steak restaurants were memorable. The San Blas islands - Kuna
Yala however was where our adventure and interaction with local indigenous
people really began. They forbid photographs of themeselves but some previous
blogs will give you an insight into life there. After San Blas the contrast
then with the old and the new Panama cities was striking but the real highlight
was our trip up the Rio Chagres with Rhiann Marie anchored in between the
competing troops of Howler Monkeys. Finally the source of much anxiety for many
cruisers was the incredible Panama Canal. We found it enjoyable and very easy
but nevertheless concluded by passing under the Bridge of the Americas into the
Pacific it was a momentus moment in our
journey.
